Queen Of Steam by Sachmoe64 Queen Of Steam by Sachmoe64
Spent a lot of time on this design for [link]. I wanted to do something steampunk and I have had Ideas of playing cards bumping around in my head. The theme was "two" so i figured the flipped image would count. basically, the design I actually submitted was this, but half done :(.

Anywhooo I figured I would submit it here so more people can check it out. This is a pretty low res image.

As always feedback is welcomed!

Edit: I forgot to mention! this has a total of seven colors used. thats because shirt.woot allows 6 colors and the color of the shirt for it to be printed on.

yup, I was thinking about doing an entire deck like this, but I don't have enough time to even imagine it anymore...

yes, sadly time is often a precious commodity in ones life. Perhaps some other DA-ites would continue what you started with comparable quality.

perhaps... or perhaps I might get to it one day. If i knew there were a market for them, I'd probably do it.

I wonder if anyone has done a proper study of the niche market of steampunk? I know I would find a deck of steampunk cards MUCH more interesting than the current traditional themes for playing cards.

It would probably sell alright at an anime or comic book convention, but the tables are usually pretty expensive.

Huh, I tended to think of conventions for the little guys (well except for the big trade shows) as all the syndicates/corporations already have distribution chains established.

That makes sense. There are (I'm sure) tons of conventions I don't hear about that might be cheaper...

This is really awesome. You should design a whole deck...you know, since you have so much free time. Ha.

I think so. You got quite a bit of support before, even when it wasn't really fleshed out and rockin like it is now. =)
